KPCC member Noushadali's plea against governance reforms in Lakshadweep rejected by HC

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has rejected a petition against administrative reforms in Lakshadweep . The petition filed by KPCC member Noushadali was rejected. The court noted that only a draft of the reform proposals is currently in Lakshadweep .

The petition was heard by a division bench headed by Justice L P Bhatia. The petitioner had also demanded that the administrative reforms be stayed immediately. But the court did not allow it. Instead, a letter was sent to the Center and the Lakshadweep Administration seeking an explanation.The Lakshadweep administration had explained that the reforms are only in the early stage now. The Lakshadweep administration had explained that the decision on the reforms would be taken after considering the views of the people.

Meanwhile, the court will consider Aisha Sultana's anticipatory bail application today. The Lakshadweep administration has told the high court that Aisha Sultana was referring to the 'biological weapon' as an attempt to incite hatred against the government. Lakshadweep Senior Standing Counsel S Manu conveyed to the court in the explanation given on behalf of Lakshadweep Senior Superintendent of Police that  after Ayesha's apologizes, says legal action cannot be avoided and treason charges persist, Ayesha's anticipatory bail plea should be rejected
