3 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists including their commander Mudasir Pandit were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Sopore area of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district

Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Sopore area of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, including their commander and one of the most wanted terrorists, Mudasir Pandit.

Kashmir's police chief (IG) Vijay Kumar acknowledged that Pandit was involved in the recent killings of three police officers, two councillors, and two civilians, as well as several other terror-related offences. "Top LeT terrorist Mudasir Pandit who was involved in the killing of three policemen, two councillors and two civilians recently and several other terror crimes got killed in Sopore encounter," Kashmir Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar tweeted.



Same type of  incident happened On 22 March 2021 also, security forces in an encounter  three terrorists were killed  in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian area. Two of the slain terrorists were linked to Pakistan-backed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Sources said that the encounter between the unidentified terrorists and security forces broke out at around 2 AM at the Manihal area of Shopian. Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army and the CRPF had launched a joint operation after receiving inputs about the presence of some terrorists in the area. 

on 6 May 2021 Three terrorists were killed after an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, police said. The terrorists were shot dead after they refused to surrender and opened fire on being trapped and surrounded in the Kanigam area of the district, Kashmir Police said in a tweet. “J&K police say four newly recruited local terrorists of Al-Badr terror outfit trapped in Kanigam area of Shopian. Exercising maximum restraint, Police & security forces are trying their best to persuade them to surrender,” the police tweeted. “Turning down the surrender offer, trapped terrorists fired and lobbed grenade on joint search party. Further details shall follow, ” they said in another tweet.
