Delhi Government filed Petition in SC for closure of 10 thermal power plants

Delhi Government filed Petition in Supreme court ( SC )   for closure of 10 thermal power plants.  But this is just to show off. If they really want to reduce pollution they should submit the plan and action also . This closure petition is to create pressure on the Central Government . If 10 Power plants shut down then NTPC will under power shortage and this will create another issue. No alternative solution or power generation plan by Delhi Government. If power generation or distribution distrubed, as usual Kejriwal will start blame on central Government. Many big industry will shut down because of this and employment  financial loss will after effects . Knowing this he playing this game. NTPC said to Delhi Government that if they help to purchase the agro waste then NTPC is ready to generate power from that through this Agro waste and avoid agro waste burning pollution and they can avoid Coal to generate power . NTPC said its Dadri thermal plant has developed a facility for co-firing rice stubble agro-waste pellets. More than 8,000 tonnes of agro-waste pellets have been fired in the last two years which has avoided stubble burning in almost 4,000 acres of farmland. The use of agro-waste pellets for power generation at Dadri station is helping farmers financially and also in reducing the carbon footprint of power generation, it added.NTPC said that their findings were: Vehicular emissions,brick-making sectors, construction activities, road dust, and industrial emissions are higher than Thermal power plants.
