Ponnani is an important port city in malappuram,Kerala
Ponnani is a city located on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Ponnani is the only port in Malappuram district. Leading historians suggest that Ponnani was the port city of Tindis mentioned in the Greek text 'Periplus of the Eritrean Sea' written in the 1st century AD.

Ponnani Valiya Jumuath Church is located in Ponnani in Malappuram district of Kerala .It was once known as the 'Little Mecca' of Malabar.

Karma Road is 4 km away from my house. It was too late for me to know that there was a boat service here. When I arrived I really enjoyed the beauty of the Ponnani river. After the Chamravatto Bridge from Nariparambil
Karma Road starts from Ishwaramangalam. Before coming to the bridge, there was a ferry crossing by boat. The famous Ayyappa Temple is located nearby.

After a long wait, Karma Road became beautiful. The road from Chamravattam Kadavu to Jim Road was rubberised. You can travel another 6 km to enjoy the beauty of Bharathapuzha. All that is coming now are riverside tourism projects. If the flyover under construction on the canal becomes a reality, you can take the Karma Road from the Chamravattam quay to the Ponnani estuary. Traffic congestion at Chamravattam Junction, Chandappadi and Ponnani Angadi will no longer be a problem. The beautiful riverside path captures the beauty of Ponnani and prepares to touch the estuary.

The 6 km stretch from Chamravattam to Kailasankulam has been completed. We also enjoyed the beauty of the Nila to avoid the traffic jams in Ponnani
Traveling along this road can be helpful. Once the bridge is completed, it will be a bypass connecting Chamravattam and the harbor. As part of the ‘Good Morning Ponnani’ tourism project, a 12-foot wide walkway, rest area and bicycle track are being constructed along the entire length of the road.

Let's look at its history .The story begins 24 years ago.
The Karma Road is the largest riverside road in the state. The government has given boating permission to promote water tourism. Boating on the shores of the sea is a great experience for boating tourists. It is hoped that the Department of Tourism will assist in providing all kinds of facilities here to attract foreign tourists as well. There are three or four gates. There are more than three boats operating at each port at the same time. And birthday reception. Meetings, school and college parties have all the amenities they need right now.
