The Supreme Court on Tuesday imposed hefty fines on eight political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress, for not disclosing the details of criminal cases against their candidates. The eight political parties were held guilty of failing to comply with the Court's earlier directions on making criminal antecedents of election candidates public, during Bihar polls. The top court in its judgment today slapped a fine of Rs 1 Lakh each on BJP, Congress, JDU, RJD, LJP and CPI and Rs 5 Lakh on NCP and CPM for not making public their candidates' criminal cases ahead of the Bih
